In June 1967, amid rising tension and Egyptian troop movements in Sinai, Israel struck first and destroyed most of the Egyptian air force on the ground. In six days its army defeated Egypt, Jordan and Syria in fast armoured advances.
Outcome: Israeli victory: Israel took Sinai, the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, East Jerusalem and the Golan Heights.
